Create a working Portal and open it in your browser. Each option below creates the Portal, the application that backs it, and the API access it needs, so you can start testing immediately. The setup creates the following resources:
  • My Account API and My Organization API: the resource servers that the Portal calls, if they do not exist yet.
  • A Regular Web Application: the application linked to your Portal. A Portal uses exactly one application.
  • Client grants: scoped access to the My Account API and the My Organization API.
  • A Portal: created with a default template.

Prerequisites

  • An Auth0 tenant with Universal Portals enabled.
Use a custom domain to get the most out of Portals. Some features, such as custom code, are not available on the Auth0 domain, and passkeys that users enroll there must be enrolled again if you later switch.

Create a Portal

1

Open Portals

2

Create the Portal

Select Create Portal, enter a Name and a Slug, and then select Create. The slug becomes part of the portal URL. Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, and start with a letter.Auth0 creates the application, the client grants, and a Portal with a default template.
3

Preview the Portal

Select Publish if the top bar shows Unpublished changes, and then select Preview to open the last published version of the Portal in a new tab.

Verify the Portal

Open the portal URL in your browser:
YOUR_DOMAIN is your custom domain, or your Auth0 domain if you don’t have a custom domain. {slug} is the slug you chose. Sign in with a test user. The Portal opens its default page and shows the components from the default template.
The portal URL opens the Portal’s default page, so it works only if the Portal has one. The default template sets one. If you see “Page not found”, set a default page, or open a page directly at https://YOUR_DOMAIN/portals/{slug}/pages/{pageSlug}. To learn how, read Configure Universal Portals.
